SWDM Membership is open to all - 16years and above.
SWDM Members may apply for SCHOLARSHIP MEMBER DANCE SPORT TEACHER TRAINING.
There is a limited number of "Scholarship Member Training" positions available during this year,
so please apply early to avoid any participation dissapointment.
Prior to paying membership dues, those interested in Member Training as dance sport teachers will
need to make an appointment tobe interviewed regards suitability and acceptance to the training program.
Should acceptance be granted, the applicant will then need to complete membership application with payment
of member dues.
Membership Fee is $150.00 per year from January 1st to December 31st annually.
Those accepted to join SWDM from Mid year will pay the reduced amount of $100.00 from 1st July to

SWDM Membership Applicants must first send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a membership
application. A Membership Application form will be sent back by email for you to complete.
Once membership application form is completed, please send this form back attached to an email.
Payment of your SWDM Membership can be completed in person on attendance at the first scheduled SWDM
Professional Dance Teacher Training Day allocated to you as per advice to be sent to you once receiving your request
for a Membership Application.
Once SWDM Membership application has been fully processed, you will receive an SWDM Membership ID Card

MEMBERSHIP AND CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP, & SUBSCRIPTION.
Article 6 Classes of Members
6.1 The members of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated shall be unincorporated bodies (Dance Clubs), body’s corporate (Dance Schools) or any other person, corporate body or unincorporated body whose name or names shall be entered in the register of members of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated
6.1.1 “Full Membership” with voting rights may be achieved by those members whom have been certified through examination at Licentiate Degree Level or have been admitted as a Fellow in any dance or dance sport style with the Society of World Dance Masters.
6.1.2 “General Members” have “No Voting Rights”. These General Members are individuals whom are not certified to a minimum of Licentiate Level or higher
6.1.3 “Certified Members” have no voting rights, but may be certified by examination up to Ruby Member level.
6.1.4 “Corporate members” may be corporations and/or unincorporated bodies as per terms of affiliation agreement. Voting rights are determined through the terms of agreement of membership reached with each separate application.
6.6 The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated may by resolution elect as an honorary member of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated any person or organization whom they consider to have rendered outstanding services to The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated or to the art of dancing, performing arts, leisure dancing or dance sport. An honorary member shall have the right to receive notice of and to attend and speak but not to vote at meetings of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated
Article 7 ELECTION OF NEW MEMBERS
7.1 Any person who seeks a membership of the Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated shall apply in writing on a form prescribed by The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated which application shall be considered by The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated at its next regular monthly Board’s Membership Committee meeting.
If the board’s membership committee of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated shall, by ordinary resolution, approve the election of the applicant, the applicant will be duly elected as a general member. The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated shall have absolute discretion as to whether or not the applicant is elected to membership.
7.2 A general member has the right to apply to the Board of Trustees to be certified through examination in any style of dance or dance sport at various recognized levels where this member is recognized as a “Certified Member”. Levels of certification in all styles of dance and dance sport include Probationary Bronze, Associate Silver, Provisional Gold, Ruby Member, Licentiate Degree Member or Fellow. Once attaining admittance as a Fellow in any one or more styles of dance or dance sport, this “certified member” will now become recognized as a “full member” of the Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated with full “Voting Rights”.
7.3 Any Corporation or Unincorporated body with a similarity, empathy, resemblance, interest, persuasion, direction or affinity, etc., with the aims of the Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated may apply for affiliation as a corporate member. Normally no voting rights apply to corporate members.
Article 8 EXPULSION OF MEMBERS
8.1 A member may be expelled by resolution carried by the votes of not less than two thirds of the members present and voting at an Annual or Special General Meeting of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated. The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated is required to give explanations for such expulsion and shall have absolute discretion as to whether or not to expel any member.
8.2 A member shall cease to be a member at the end of the meeting at which the resolution to expel it was carried.
8.3 No member who has been expelled from membership shall be readmitted to membership except by resolution carried by the votes of not less than two thirds of the members present and voting at an Annual or Special General Meeting of The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated
Article 9 CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
9.1 Membership of the Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated shall cease if in relation to a member:
9.1.1 It, being an individual, dies;
9.1.2 It, being a body corporate, ceases to be a body corporate;
9.1.3 It, being an unincorporated body is dissolved or ceases to exist;
9.1.4 It is expelled in accordance with article 8;
9.1.5 It fails to pay any subscription monies due in accordance with article 10
Article 10 SUBSCRIPTION
10.1 All members, general, certified, corporate or full members, shall pay an annual subscription of such sum as The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated may from time to time prescribe.
10.2 Payment of subscriptions for each year of membership shall be made in December the year prior to the date upon which the Annual General Meeting for that year is held at the rate prescribed by The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated in the previous year. Failure to pay the subscription before the last day of January the same year for which the subscription is due shall render a member or member organization liable to expulsion.
10.3 Full Members that can prove hardship to the satisfaction of the Presidium may apply to the Presidium for a reduction in the amount of the subscription monies due from them. The Presidium shall have absolute discretion as to whether or not to approve a reduction in subscription fees.
Article 41 RULES AND BY-LAWS
41.1 Each member shall be bound by any rules; by-laws or other regulations from time to time made or adopted by The Society of World Dance Masters Incorporated in a General meeting or by any Commission.
